Camper Mental, Emotional, Social, Health and Inclusion (MESHI) Coordinator
This position will provide needed support to campers to help all campers be successful and comfortable in the camp's changing and dynamic environment. The MESHI Coordinator will serve as a resource for staff who need additional support for campers whose needs may go beyond what they have the tools to support. They will be a critical member of our support and leadership team.
Responsibilities

Work one-on-one or in small groups with a variety of campers who could benefit from extra support, reminders and encouragement.

Meet and work closely with Health Supervisors prior to the start of each session to review notes and forms of campers who may need additional support.

Assist with reviewing camper forms and working with assigned cabin counselors to share resources and tools.

Continuously check in with counselors of assigned campers to provide support and guide progress.

Collaborate with counseling staff to offer aid by stepping into cabin setting when needed.

Take the lead on challenging camper behavior incidents.

Document camper incidents, situations, and how we handled the situation for future reference.

Support fellow camp staff with resources and suggestions to help cultivate a safe, fun, creative and challenging camping opportunity that fosters individual growth for all campers.

Work with Support Staff to design modifications to programs and activities to be inclusive of all campers.

All Support Staff are highly involved with the camper experience throughout their contracted stay at Camp Manitou. This involves supporting counselors in varying activity areas and evening activities, as well as responsibility for the care and wellbeing of all campers.

Qualifications- Required
-
Three years of experience in a camp or school setting, working directly with children

Must have an exemplary driving record

Attend and assist in staff training
-
Upon hire, obtain certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid
Qualifications- Preferred

Recommended to be 21 years of age

Lifeguard Certification
-
Boaters safety certification
-
Exemplary driving record with a commitment to take vehicle safety course at camp in order to drive camp vehicles
*We strongly prefer candidates to have at least 3 of the 4 qualifications
